Have you ever struggled with setting boundaries, dealing with a tricky person in your life, navigating what it means to take the “higher-road”? If so, then this might just resonate with you!
I’ve been dancing around what it means to be radically responsible in my life. I know the feeling in my body when I am NOT that. I feel out of alignment, uncomfortable and begin bubbling with frustration and anger. I can feel myself sacrificing and compromising the truth of who and I am and what I know.
When we are GROWING and doing our personal development in a bubble it’s easy to believe we could solve all the problems of the world with peace, love and mung-beans. We feel the warm glow of inner peace, harmony and contentment. And then….we bump into a tricky family member, work colleague or a situation that pushes all of our buttons and BOOM…the bubble bursts and we are flailing around for the right thing to say, to do and to think in order to avoid the pain and confrontation. Right at this moment we have a precious opportunity to step into our leadership!
What I’ve discovered is that we, as rising leaders, must first lead ourselves in our own lives. One of the most powerful ways we can show up when the going gets tough is with our super power, FIERCE LOVE. Knowing when to open the eyes, ears and heart of your SOUL in any given moment will give you access to this Super Power! There is so much more going on than our minds and ego’s will give us access to. In this difficult moment, tap into your deep well of compassion and gratitude that you’ve been training for. Rise to the 30,000 ft view for instant access to accurate perception. Recognise the truth that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience, doing the best we can at the level of consciousness we can access in this moment. Remember who you are striving to be in this world and all that you’ve come to contribute.
It’s a lot to take in when you are in a moment of stress, confrontation and confusion. So, like anything in life, it takes practice. Build your FIERCE LOVE muscle every day by tuning into the “deeper truth” in every day moments. The deeper truth isn’t always about keeping everyone happy and people pleasing. There is a way we can support ourselves and at the same time support others for the highest good of all. It just might not look like you thought it would.
When you are in the fire you can access your soul’s wisdom by asking yourself; What would love do now? The answer might not be to hug a tree or send love and light. You just might find that the most loving thing to do is disengage and get the hell out of there, create some distance and set some clear boundaries – with LOVE. Fierce doesn’t mean angry. It’s the ability to take all your passion, convictions and emotions and turn to them with love and tenderness. Your feelings matter and they need to be held and responded to, by YOU. Once you’ve taken care of what you most need in the heat of the moment, you will be able to respond to others with deeper wisdom.
In cultivating this new super power you’ll find that soon enough your force field will attract less and less circumstances that bother you. Pure emotional alchemy will see to it that what once triggered you will now have you showing up in new, more loving ways in integrity and aligned with your soul’s knowing. Just like Wayne Dyer said “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change”. All of a sudden you are smiling in moments that used to cause you stress, you intuitively know when to call it a night or stop playing the role you have been playing most of your life. The tension softens and you become more present to the divine truth. We are all doing the best we can, with whatever tools and resources we have, and the circumstances and situations we’re experiencing.
Remember a rising leader is not seeking approval and acceptance from others. We are done with that. So the next time you are faced with a challenge, just know it’s an excellent opportunity for growth. Rise above the old experience, claim your leadership and leap into a life of freedom and fierce love.
